The
Instititute of Contemporary Art hosts
exhibitions of innovative and
thought-provoking works in the current
art scene. It has grown by leaps and
bounds so has moved from its Bolyston
Street location to exciting new digs on
the Boston waterfront. According to the
museum's press release on the topic,
"Major design elements of the new
65,000-square-foot museum include
flexible galleries that triple the ICA's
exhibition space, a 325-seat performing
arts theater with glass walls that face
Boston Harbor, and high-tech education
and digital media facilities."
Much has
been made of the fact that this is first
new art museum built in Boston in nearly
one hundred years. Overall, critics have
applauded the new building and the
exhibits it holds. We think it deserves a
good, long look.
