Famous
for its architectural beauty, King's
Chapel became the first Unitarian Church
in the U.S. after the American
Revolution. The graveyard is resting
place of Massachusetts Governor John
Winthrop; John Davenport, founder of New
Haven, CT; and Elizabeth Pain, who was
said to be the model for Hester Prynne in
Nathaaniel Hawthorne's novel The
Scarlet Letter. One of the stops on
