Trail Running
My run yesterday was on a trail that ran through the woods and around a meadow near Concord, MA. It was lovely and unpredictable. I can see why so many runners like to get off the beaten path from time to time!
Had three great runs in three days during a long weekend in northeastern Pennsylvania. Although the route was short (just under 3 miles), the hilly terrain more than compensated for it. By the third day, my knee didn't bother me at all (other than a slight twinge) and I could have gone further had there been sufficient time.
After a day of rest, am now off to Massachusetts where I hope to get in a few more short runs, just to stay in the game.
Following the 1/2 marathon, I noticed my first black toenail. Apparently, "runner's toe" is pretty common and I am likely to experience more as November 2nd approaches. In proving to my son that the ugly black toe is nothing I need to worry about (it doesn't hurt so I am not treating it), I found a helpful write-up on the web.
