Japan Society 333 East 47th
Street
Manhattan

The
galleries of the Japan Society present
exhibits of traditional and contemporary
art as well as films, performances, and
lectures on Japanese culture. A recent
expansion added 9,540 square feet to the
building and included a new gallery with
14 foot ceilings that now allows the
Society to display large works such as
kakejiku, the great scrolls and hanging
art of temples. We especially like the
landscape designs in the two interior
gardens. To learn about current exhibits
and events, visit their web site.
