Hands-on
and interactive explanations of
scientific concepts, especially
appropriate for children. By
participating in a series of hands-on
activities, children will learn about
kinetic energy, angular momentum, and
simple machines. For example, a giant
seesaw at the science playground balances
a whole classroom of kids at once. And
instead of video games, theres a
game where kids hit the target with a
beam of sunlight and literally make
things start spinning.
Be sure to attend the
presentations held by the young and
spirited staff members. Your kids won't
believe how fun it can be to explore the
wonder and excitement of biology,
chemistry and physics!
Before you go, we recommend
that you get your young ones excited by
looking around the interactive elements
of the Hall of Science web site.
Note that the web site is also the best
source for information about hours,
admission fees and special programs and
events.
To get there by subway, take
the #7 to 111th Street.
Note: This is one of the
attractions our editors voted as one of
our "Top 5 Picks for
Kids."
