The
Ground Zero Museum Workshop features the
stunning photographs taken by Gary Marlon
Suson, an Honorary FDNY Battalion Chief
and the Official Photographer at
Ground Zero for the Uniformed
Firefighters Association (FDNY). The
museum also includes rare video footage
of the recovery process, as well as
artifacts that visitors are allowed to
pick up. Some images presented in
realistic 3-D. Viewing the museum's
collection is a powerfully emotional
experience and, since it makes viewing
the actual Ground Zero site more
meaninful, we recommend going to the
museum first.
The space is small
so tours are limited to 35 people per
tour, making advance reservations a true
necessity. Tours guides include FDNY
firefighters as well as Mr. Suson
himself. Allow one and a half hours for
the tour. Self-guided audio tour units
are available in English, French,
Spanish & Italian.
Open Tuesday thru
Saturday 11am-5pm and Sunday-Monday
12pm-5pm. Wheelchair accessible. Cameras
allowed. NO VIDEO.
Donations from
museum proceeds are made monthly to ten
FDNY and 9/11-related charities.
